Bangladesh Biman became champion in the Dutch-Bangla Bank 1st Division Chess League-2007. Biman earned total 44½ points to clinch the title. In the last round Biman beat Mohakhali Prodip Sangah by 4-0 points. Leonine Chess Club became runners-up. They earned 43 points. Destiny 2000 Limited became 3rd and Chittagong Mohammedan Sporting Club became 4th position. Destiny and Chittagong Mohammedan earned 38½ points each. In the last round: Leonine beat Dhaka University Chess Club by 3-1 points, Destiny beat i2 soft Solution Ltd. by 3-1 points and Chittagong Mohammedan beat Sonali Bank by 2½-1½ points. Pritan Prijam Chess Club became 5th with 35½ points. Other positions are: 6th-Dhaka University Chess Club, points-25, 7th-Farashgonj Sporting Club, points-24, 8th-Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club, points-24, 9th-Sulatana Kamal Smiriti Pathagar, points-18½, 10-Mohakhali Pradip Sangah, points-18, 11th-Friends Chess Power, points-16, 12th-i2 soft Solution Ltd., points-16, 13th-Toyota Motors Chess Club, points-12 and 14th-Faith Chess Club, points-10½. Players of Biman’s are: GM Ziaur Rahman, GM Reefat Bin Sattar, GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib, FM Mehdi Hasan (Parag), FM Abu Sufian Shakil, FM Rezaul Haque. Players of Leonine are: GM Neelotpal Das (India), IM Sriram Jha (India), GM Niaz Murshed, FM Kh. Aminul Islam, Abdul Maleq and Mainuddin Ahmed. Players of Destiny are: IM Enamul Hossain razib, FM Sk. Nasir Ahmed, FM Minhazuddin Ahmed, FM Taibur Rahman, Mohammad Javed and Debaraj Chatterjee. Players of Chittagong Mohammedan are: IM Roktim Bandyopadhyay (India), IM Saptarshi Roy (India), FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon, Mohammad Ali, Saif Uddin Lavlu and Mahmuda Haque Chowdhury Moly. 14 teams participated in the league in round-robin system.
