Ajgor Ali became unbeaten champion in the Grameenphone 8th National SpecialChess Tournament-2007, sponsored by Grameenphone Ltd and organised By Bangladesh Braille Chess Society. Ajgor earned maximum 7 points to clinch the title. Last year champion Kamal Hossain became runner-up and Md Nazmul beacame 3rd.Kamal and Nazmul earned 7 points each. Their tie was broken by tie-breaking system. 11 players earned 5 points each.They are: Ferdous Hasan, Md. Mir Hossain, Md. Abid Hossain, Habibur
Rahman, S.M. Shahin, Md. Sohel Rana, Abu Nayem Mamun, Md. Hasan, Golam Moshtafa and Md. Shaheb Ali.7th or last round games were held yesterday (Monday). In the last round: Ajgor beat Mir, Kamal beat Abid, Nazmul beat Ferdous, Mamun beat Monir. The Prize distribution ceremony was held on Monday at the conference-room of National Sports Council. Mr.Mizanur Rahman Manu, Vice-President of Bangladesh Olympic Association distributed prizes among the winners to present as chief guest. Col.(Retd.) Md. Wali Ullah, Director and C.E.O Bangladesh Olympic Association, Mr. Moin Tarik, Manager, Marketing Communications of Grameenphone, Mrs.Barbro Henrikhson, Advicer, Disability Programme. Mr. Md. Jahangir Alam,President of B.B.C.S. presided the ceremony and Mr. Nazmul Hossain,Vice-President of B.B.C.S. and Mr. Md. Zakir Hossain, Acting General Secretary of B.B.C.S. gave addresses in the ceremony. Total 62 players participated in the 4 days event.
