Biman chmpion in 1st Division Chess League
Bangladesh Biman became champion in the Dutch-Bangla Bank 1st Division Chess League-2007. Biman earned total 44½ points to clinch the title. In the last round Biman beat Mohakhali Prodip Sangah by 4-0 points. Leonine Chess Club became runners-up. They earned 43 points. Destiny 2000 Limited became 3rd and Chittagong Mohammedan Sporting Club became 4th position. Destiny and Chittagong Mohammedan earned 38½ points each. In the last round: Leonine beat Dhaka University Chess Club by 3-1 points, Destiny beat i2 soft Solution Ltd. by 3-1 points and Chittagong Mohammedan beat Sonali Bank by 2½-1½ points. Pritan Prijam Chess Club became 5th with 35½ points. Final standing of Commonwealth Chess
GM Abdulla Al Rakib became 9th with 7.5 points in the Parsvnath Commonwealth Chess Championships which was held in New Delhi from 3-10 December.GM Niaz Murshed became 11th with same point. Another Bangladeshi GM Reefat Bin Sattar became 29th with 6.5 points. FM Kh. Aminul Islam became 95th with 5.5 points and IWM Rani Hamid 209th with 4 points. GM Ramesh R B of India became champion with 8.5 points.

Ajgor Ali became unbeaten champion in the Grameenphone 8th National SpecialChess Tournament-2007, sponsored by Grameenphone Ltd and organised By Bangladesh Braille Chess Society. Wali Ullah, Director and C.E.O Bangladesh Olympic Association, Mr. Moin Tarik, Manager, Marketing Communications of Grameenphone, Mrs.Barbro Henrikhson, Advicer, Disability Programme. Mr. Md. Jahangir Alam,President of B.B.C.S. presided the ceremony and Mr. Nazmul Hossain,Vice-President of B.B.C.S. and Mr. Md. Zakir Hossain, Acting General Secretary of B.B.C.S. gave addresses in the ceremony. Total 62 players participated in the 4 days event.

Commonwealth Chess: result after round 5
GM Reefat Bin Sattar earned 4.5 points afer end of the 5th round of Commonwealth Chess Championship.GM Abdulla Al-Rakib earned 4 points.GM Niaz Murshed and FM Kh. Aminul Islam earned 3.5 points each.WIM Rani Hamid earned 2 points.In 4th round Reefat beat WGM Tania Sachdev.Rakib drew with IM Saravanan V,Niaz drew with Saravana Krishnan P,Aminul drew with Swapnil S Dhopade,Rani Hamid lost against Sayantan Das.IM Himanshu Sharma of India is leading the points table with maximum 5 points.

1st Division Chess League-2007
The games of the 1st Division Chess League-2007 will start from 12th December 2007, Wednesday from 3:00 PM at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room. 16 teams will participate in the tournament. Teams are: Reigning Champion Bangladesh Biman, Runners-up Leonine Chess Club, Chittagong Mohammedan Sporting Club,Destiny 2000 Limited, Nrayngonj City Chess Club, Titas Club, Sonali Bank Sports& Recreation Club, Dhaka University Chess Club, Bangladesh Muktijuddah Sangsad Krira Chakra, Mohakhali Prodip Sangsad, Friends Chess Power, Farashgonj Sporting Club, Faith Chess Club, Agrogati Chess Club (Toyota Motors), Prime Life Insurance Company and Sultana Kamal Smirity Pathagar. Commonwealth Chess Championship-2007
The games of the Commonwealth Chess Championship will start from 3rd December in Delhi, India. 5 Bangladesh players are participating in the tournament. They are: GM Niaz Murshed, GM Reefat Bin Sattar, GM Abdullah Al Rakib, FM Kh. Aminul Islam and IWM Rani Hamid. The Commonwealth Chess Championship will be held in 10 round Swiss-League system and cash prize money will be given to the winners.
