Preliminary phase of the 28th National Women Chess Championship-2007

Sharmin Sultana Shirin of Narayangonj became 1st in the selection phase ofthe Aromatic 28th National Women Chess Championship-2007, organise byBangladesh Chess Federation. Shirin earned 4 points. Farjana Hossain Anniebecame 2nd with 3½ points. 5 players earned 3 points each their positionsare: 3rd-Mimi Arjuman, 4th-Kishwara Shajrin Evana, 5th-Mahmuda HaqueChowdhury Moly, 6th-Zakia Sulatana and 7th-Hamida Begum, Mithla Ahmed became 8th with 2½points. Top 8 players will participate in the final phase with reigningwoman champion IWM Rani Hamid, runner-up Nazrana Khan Eva, Shamima AkterLiza and Masuda Begum. The final phase will start from 3rd March Saturdayfrom 3:00 PM at the chess Federation hall-room.

Sharmin Sultana Shirin of Narayangonj marinating her solo lead in the points table with 3½ points after end of the 4th round games of the selection phase of the 28th National Women Chess Championship-2007, organise by Bangladesh Chess Federation. Farjana Hossain Annie, Mahmuda Haque Chowdhury Moly, Mimi Arjuman and Hamida Rahman are in 2nd position with 2½ points each. 4th round games were held yesterday (Monday) at the Hall-room of Bangladesh Chess Federation. In the 4th round Shirin beat Mithila, Annie drew with Moly, Mimi drew with Evana, Zakia beat Mahfuza & Sharmin beat Madhavi. 5th or last round games will start today (Tuesday) from 3:00 PM at the same venue.

In the 2nd round Shirin beat Evana, Annie drew with Mimi, Zakiadrew with Moly, Mithila beat Hamida, Titli beat Suraiya, Mahfuza beatMadhavi and Sharmin beat Farhana. The event is being held in a 5 roundSwiss-League system and 8 players will qualify in the final phase. 3rdround games will start today (Sunday) from 3:00 PM at the same venue.

Preliminary phase of the 28th National Women Chess Championship-2007,organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation began yesterday (Friday) at the Hall-room of Bangladesh Chess Federation. 17 players are participating in the event. 4 players earned full points after winning their 1st round games.They are: Sharmin Sultana Shirin, Farjana Hossain Annei, Kishwara ShajrinEvana. In the 1st round Shirin beat Titli, Annie beat Mahfuza, Evana beat Suraiya and Mimi beat Madhavi. 8 players will qualify in the final phase. 4 players, reigning woman champion IWM Rani Hamid, runner-up Nazrana Khan Eva,rated Shamima Akter Liza and Masuda Begum will participate directly in thefinal phase. 2nd round games will start today (Saturday) from 3:30 PM atthe same venue.

Preliminary phase of the 28th National Women Chess Championship-2007, organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation will start on 23rd February at 3:00PM at the Hall-room of Bangladesh Chess Federation. Its an open event for all women and girls. Entry fees not required. Interested women & girls can enroll their name on or before 22nd February 2007 at Bangladesh ChessFederation office (2nd Floor, National Sports Council, 62/3 Purana Paltan,Dhaka-1000). 8 players will qualify in the final phase. 4 players, reigning woman champion IWM Rani Hamid, runner-up Nazrana Khan Eva, rated ShamimaAkter Liza and Masuda Begum will participate directly in the final phase.
