Abu Sufian Shakil of Biman became champion in the Prime Bank 10th International Rating Chess Tournament-2007.Mohammad Ali of Leonine became runner-up. Shakil and Ali both earned 8 points each. Their tie was broken by tie-breaking system. Shakil clinch the title and Ali became runner-up. FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Biman became 3rdwith 7½. points. 5 players earned 7 points each. The prize-distribution ceremony of the event was held yesterday(Sunday) afternoon at the conference-room of the National sports council.Mr. Azam J. Chowdhury, Chairman of Prime Bank Limited distributed prizes among the winners. Mr. Nasiruddin Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director of PrimeBank Limited and Mr. Syed Shujauddin Ahmed former president BCF were present as special guests. Captain (Rted.) Imam Anwar Hossain, President ofLeonine Chess Club presided the ceremony and Mf. Manzur Hossain Zimmu,General Secretary of the Leonine Chess Club gave address in the ceremony. Total 122 players participated in the event and the event was held in 9 round Swiss-League system.
